HALF MARATHON

SPECIFICATIONS

Date of Conduct: Sunday, March 31, 2024

Running Route: 21.1 km.

Start Time:  09:30 am

Starting Point:  Ancient Olympia Town Hall

End Point:  Ancient Olympia Town Hall

Route : From the Town Hall of Ancient Olympia , through the provincial road, passing through the beautiful villages of the Municipality, Koskinas , Mageiras , Platanos , Pelopio , Smila , return via Pelopio, Platano, ending at the Town Hall of Ancient Olympia.
( Note: The turning point is at 21.1 km. The altitude and the route do not change, just the turning point is a little behind this point of 21.43 km.)

Eligibility : In order to participate in the running race (21 km) one must be at least 18 years of age.

Categories:

18th – 35th Years Men – Women

35 years and older Men – Women.

Prizes :

A medal and a trophy are awarded to each of the first three winners of the classification in both categories Men and Women and a cup only to the first

A cup will be awarded to the first male athlete in each individual category

A cup will be awarded to the first three athletes of the Men’s – Women’s General classification.

All runners who finish will be given a commemorative medal and kotin

 On behalf of the organizers, transport of the athletes from Athens and various other cities, to Ancient Olympia and vice versa will be provided (if and as long as a sufficient number of athletes are completed!!)

  • Health coverage

In any case, all runners participate at their own risk. The organizers have no responsibility for anything that happens related to health issues and is due to a lack of preventive medical control. It is recommended that participants have undergone a recent medical examination before participating in the race. The organizers will not request medical certificates for any athlete, since all participants compete at their own risk. Participants must sign the electronic disclaimer.

  • Support stations

Along the route of the 21km Half Marathon Road Race there will be runner support stations. Bottled water will be available to all participants at the start and finish as well as at runner support stations along the route. Race participants will be provided with isotonic drinks at the finish line.

  • Match completion time limit

The time limit for finishing the race is 3 hours after the start, ending at 12:30.

ATTENTION: Athletes who may continue their effort beyond the specified time limit, must know that they are running or walking at their own risk. Traffic will hand over the racing route to traffic gradually, after the last runner has passed through the fueling stations within the set time limit.

  • Electronic timing and results

 Electronic timing will be carried out by a timing company. For this reason runners should wear the timing chip they receive together with their participation number from the registration center. Attention: Your time will not be recorded and you will not be included in the results if you do not have the timing chip placed in your shoe or behind your number and do not pass over the timing mats.

  • File pickup center

 Location: Kiosk of the organization at the City Hall of Ancient Olympia

Cancellations of entries are accepted only upon written request and only until March 15, 2024. After this date, no cancellation requests will be accepted.
